Matthijs Jansen

Matthijs was the first member of the Lighthouse team in 2019.  After his study in Natural Science and Innovation Management (University of Utrecht), Matthijs has been working in the renewable energy sector since 2013. His career started with the challenge of innovatively connecting solar and wind energy projects to the electricity grid in order to stimulate the energy transition. After that work experience, he switched to the side of initiator for developing and realizing wind farms.

 Matthijs has experience in obtaining permits and supervising the substantiating (technical) studies, obtaining subsidies, and guaranteeing permit regulations and environmental aspects during the realization phase. From this basis, he often fulfills a coordinating role within the design and contracting phase. 

 Matthijs is enthusiastic and likes to provide structure within the project. With his proactive attitude, he likes to be the driving force within a project team. Driven by his education, he likes to make connections between the technical possibilities, social feasibility, and economic aspects of a project.
